Launchpad: Getting Started
Set up your organization or church and send your first post live.
Choosing your cause categories
Secondary tags that describe the type of work you do — used as filters and feed signals.
Church setup: tithes, funds & campaigns — when to use which
Churches have three tools: Tithe & Offering for ongoing undirected giving (100% to you), Funds for purpose pools that can split across vetted recipients, and posts/campaigns for single time-bound appeals. This guide says when to use which.
Connecting Stripe to receive payouts
Stripe Connect is how Gifts move from Xerish into your bank account. Without it, no payouts.
Creating your first Fund
A step-by-step walkthrough of the four-step Fund create wizard - details, recipients, allocation weights, and publishing.
Reporting impact: methodology notes and soft outcomes
Tell Givers honestly how you measure impact — what a "unit" really represents, and what the limits of the number are.
Setting up catalogue items (recurring giving anchors)
Catalogue items are the recurring giving offers Givers subscribe to — the steady base of your support.
Setting up your Organization basics: name, mission, logo, banner
Your Organization name, mission, logo, and banner image — what every Giver sees first.
Tagging your Organization by who you serve
Use the Recipient Taxonomy to tell Givers exactly which populations your work reaches — the single most powerful filter on Xerish.
Tax and legal: EIN, 501(c)(3), and your address on Xerish
Establish your tax-exempt status and legal address so payouts comply with IRS and Stripe Connect requirements.
Verify your email and identity
Confirm your email address so Xerish can reach you, and so Givers can trust who they're giving to.
Writing your first post — small goals, real impact
A post is a specific, achievable, goal-shaped ask. Small concrete goals outperform large abstract ones on Xerish, every time.
Your first week on Xerish: a getting-started path
The ordered first-week path: verify email, complete your profile, connect Stripe, set impact methodology, create a first post, and invite supporters. A map that links to the detailed article for each step.
Your public contact information
The contact details Givers and the Xerish team use to reach you — kept up to date matters.
Understanding Xerish
How the platform works — the wallet, F.I.G.S., the Joseph Principle, and the Storehouse.
Can we email our members or export their contact info?
Member contact info is not exportable by design — reach members through Xerish push and announcements.
The path of a gift: from a giver's top-up to your bank
The full journey of one gift in five stops: top-up to the Storehouse, a 0%-fee gift, a 24–48h hold, an automatic grant to your Stripe account, then a bank payout. Use it to locate any dollar at any moment.
The Storehouse, the IRS, and what changes at full determination
The Storehouse is a 501(c)(3) DAF sponsor with IRS determination pending; during review it operates under an unnamed interim fiscal sponsorship partner. Tax-deductibility is intended, not yet settled — describe it that way to givers.
Who controls the money?
Contributions belong to Xerish Storehouse — the variance power, the Pre-Approved Recipient List, and when a grant recommendation would ever be redirected.
Who sends your grant: Xerish SPC and Xerish Storehouse
Two entities run Xerish: Xerish SPC (the technology company) and Xerish Storehouse (a 501(c)(3) DAF sponsor). Givers contribute to the Storehouse, which then grants the money to you — so the sender is always the Storehouse, never the giver.
Why can't we see who our anonymous givers are?
Anonymous gifts show totals only, never a name — reconcile them at the deposit level, not per member.
Xerish and Your Local Church
The local church is the primary storehouse of the Christian life — our position on tithes, the name "Storehouse," Malachi 3:10, giving in secret, and the fee, honestly.
Platform Features
How posts, campaigns, funds, payouts, and the Financial Center work.
Account security & who can see what
One owner controls money and Stripe; team members get area-scoped permissions and never see financial data unless granted. Use a strong unique password, keep recovery email current, and prune access when people leave.
Being a recipient on a Fund
What happens when another church includes your organization in a Fund - how gifts are held, released, and arrive in your account.
Campaigns vs. Posts: when to use which
A post is a small fast ask; a campaign is a larger structured one. 90% of asks should be posts.
Email Broadcasts to your followers
Send mission updates, thank-yous, and campaign launches to followers by email — templates, segments, scheduling, and a preview gate.
Family Center & family-only content
Build your church family list and control which posts, events and announcements are family-only versus public.
Goal-met auto-close and victory post creation
When a post hits its goal, the platform auto-closes it and prompts a victory post — closing the loop with every Giver who participated.
Growing your following & getting found
Grow by bringing your existing supporters in (profile link + QR code) and getting found by new ones (consistent posting, earned trending, and a complete Discover presence). Reach is earned, never paid — there is no amplification to buy.
How Funds work
A Fund is a giving target with a stated purpose and one or more recipients - it can fund your church itself or split across several vetted organizations.
How Giver notifications work
When and how Givers are notified — and what notifications come back to you as an Organization.
How recurring giving works
Givers subscribe to a catalogue item; Xerish charges them on schedule; the Gift lands in your Org balance.
How you get paid: grants, Stripe Connect & holds
Gifts are held by Xerish Storehouse, then granted to your Stripe account automatically once they clear a short hold. You never request a payout.
Impact: metrics, units & realized cost-per-unit
Set a cost-per-unit on your posts so givers see real-world outcomes, and record the realized impact your Fund recipients deliver.
Inbox, Notifications & Messages — what goes where
Inbox is the one feed of signals that need you; Messages is two-way chat with partner orgs and Xerish. How they differ.
Partnerships: requesting, approving & messaging partners
How church-and-org partnerships work on Xerish: find a partner, send a request, approve incoming ones, and end them.
Platform funds (curated by Xerish)
Curated platform-wide giving funds run by Xerish admin — distinct from church-run funds.
Prayer: moderating prayer requests
Moderate the prayer requests your church family shares in the app — mark answered, remove, and ban or unban givers.
QR codes & Quick Give
Generate a scannable QR code and short giving link for your org or church — pick a fund, share it anywhere, and track scans.
Reading your Analytics
A tour of the Analytics tabs — Overview, Reach, Engagement, Audience, Content, Givers, Projections, Impact and Funds.
Reports & exports
Download your giving records as CSV or Excel — gifts, deposits, and rollups by giver, campaign or Fund — for accounting and reconciliation.
Setting up your public profile
Your public profile converts visitors into followers and givers and drives your Discover ranking. Complete the logo, description, category, location, and photos — and note there are no per-org verification badges by design.
Team members, roles & area permissions
Invite people to your org portal, assign a role preset, and fine-tune access per area — Full, View-only or Hidden.
Tithe & Offering: direct giving to your church
The Tithe & Offering bucket is the one direct, undirected way to give to your church - received by you to steward at your discretion.
What a post is and how it works
A post on Xerish is a goal-shaped ask — title, body, media, goal, end date, impact metric. Auto-closes when the goal hits.
Your Discover presence
How Givers find you on Discover: your reach analytics, where Xerish highlights you, your listing status, followers, and categories.
Your Financial Center & Storehouse wallet
One screen from gift to bank: four wallet buckets, Stripe Connect status, grant-transfer history, and the Storehouse's public books.
Content & Storytelling
Write posts Givers trust — cadence, photos, goals, and victory moments.
How often should you post
Weekly is the floor for active Organizations. Cadence builds trust; silence erodes it.
How victory posts work and when to write one
When a goal closes, Xerish prompts a victory post — the moment that brings every Giver back to celebrate what their Giving did.
Photo guidelines: what works, what doesn't
Real photos from your real work. One good photo. No stock imagery. Faces are powerful — with consent.
Post, Campaign, Fund or Tithe: choosing the right tool
A one-screen decision guide: ongoing + undirected = Tithe/Offering; one deadline-driven ask = post or campaign; a shared purpose across one or more recipients = Fund. Stops the most common new-org question.
What makes a strong impact metric
Concrete unit of value × honest unit cost = an impact metric Givers trust and a victory post that lands.
Why small achievable goals outperform big abstract asks
The doctrine behind Xerish posts: a $50 goal with $1/meal beats a $50,000 abstract ask, every time.
Common Questions
F.I.G.S. verification, fees, the Joseph Principle, and reaching support.
A gift to us shows "Rejected" — what do we do?
Every decision shows its reason; to contest a rejection, write to support@xerish.com — a person replies.
Are there tips, subscriptions, or hidden fees?
No tips, no balance fee, no subscription — only the flat 2.5% at top-up.
Can I give anonymously?
Turn off name-sharing in Settings; organizations see totals only, never your name.
Can our staff get their own logins?
Web dashboard supports role-based team logins with per-area access; the mobile app is currently owner-only.
Can we confirm and reprint a giver's tax receipt?
Storehouse issues every receipt automatically; givers find them in Wallet → Tax Documents, and support re-sends on request.
Does it cost anything to give from my wallet to an organization?
Wallet-to-organization gifts are always 0% — the fee is only charged once, at top-up.
F.I.G.S. verification: what it is and how to qualify
F.I.G.S. — Faith, Integrity, Generosity, Stewardship — is the binary verified-or-not standard for Organizations on Xerish. Pass, fail, or needs-more-info. Never a numeric score.
How do my gifts actually reach an organization?
Storehouse vets, approves, and transfers your gift to the organization; dispatch is automatic after a short clearing window.
How does giving work?
Fund your wallet, then recommend grants; Storehouse delivers them to organizations.
How to reach Xerish support
For most questions, use the in-app Help inbox. For urgent payout, compliance, or F.I.G.S. issues, email support@xerish.com.
Is my giving tax-deductible?
Your top-up is intended to be deductible; Storehouse 501(c)(3) recognition is pending — keep the receipt in Wallet → Tax Documents.
Staying F.I.G.S.-aligned: what we look for
F.I.G.S. — Faith, Integrity, Generosity, Stewardship — is the binary pass/fail standard every org on Xerish has met. There is no score and no per-org badge; stay aligned by representing yourself honestly and using gifts as stated.
Tax receipts & deductibility for your givers
Xerish Storehouse — not your organization — issues year-end tax statements, reflecting the contribution amount only. Deductibility is intended but not guaranteed while IRS determination is pending; never describe it as settled.
The Joseph Principle
Xerish's binding covenant: 20% of Xerish SPC net profit is transferred to Xerish Storehouse every quarter for Kingdom causes. Any '10%' is a bug.
What does Xerish charge?
Orgs and churches never pay — no subscription, no per-gift fee. Wallet-to-org giving is 0%. Givers cover a flat 2.5% (card and ACH) top-up service fee.
What fee does Xerish charge when I add money?
A flat 2.5% applies once when you add money — giver-covered, so your full gift reaches your balance.
What happens to larger grants — is there a review threshold?
Grants up to $5,000 auto-approve; larger or flagged grants get a human review — every decision is logged.
What is the Joseph Principle?
Xerish redistributes at least 20% of net profit to Kingdom causes — a floor that can only rise.
What is Xerish Storehouse?
Storehouse (501(c)(3) recognition pending) holds balances, vets recipients, and issues your tax statement.
What is Xerish?
Xerish is a faith-rooted giving platform: fund your wallet once, then give without pressure.
When does money reach your bank?
No withdrawal request needed. Gifts clear a 24–48h hold, then Xerish Storehouse grants them to your Stripe account automatically, usually within the hour.
Why are gifts held before they reach me?
Gifts hold 24h (on a post/campaign) or 48h (direct) at Xerish Storehouse to cover the refund/clawback window and confirm the grant recommendation. It is not a fee, and nothing is deducted during the hold.
Why does a gift sit "Pending" for 24–48 hours?
Post-tied gifts clear in 24h, direct gifts in 48h — a protection window for corrections and screening.
Why is money held on our open post?
Gifts on an open post release when the post hits its goal or end date, then clear within 24 hours.
Policies
Content, refund, and platform policies in plain language.
If your account is restricted: suspension & appeals
Suspension is a defined, reason-logged process reserved for serious F.I.G.S. or compliance issues. New giving and grant dispatch pause, but gifts already given stay safe at the Storehouse, and there is an appeal path back.
Privacy policy summary
What Xerish collects, why, how it's used, and what we never do with it. The full policy lives on xerish.com.
Refund and dispute policy
Givers can request a refund within 30 days of a Gift; Organizations and Xerish admin handle disputes case-by-case.
What you can and can't post on Xerish
Posts must reflect real work, honest impact, and dignity for the people served. Specific prohibitions follow.
Your organization's data: what we store, export & delete
Xerish stores your profile, content, gift/grant, and impact data; banking lives with Stripe; financial data is owner-gated. You can export your records anytime, but charitable gift/grant ledgers are retained for legal and audit reasons.
