Partnerships: requesting, approving & messaging partners

Partnerships

A partnership is a public, mutual relationship between a church and an organization that wants to champion its work. It links the two accounts so each can show the other on its profile and so a partner can be added to a Fund without the usual approval wait. A partnership is a relationship and visibility link only — it does not move money and it does not grant access to any Giver data.

What it's for

  • Signalling that a church stands behind an organization's mission.
  • Letting a church add a known, trusted organization to a Fund without waiting through the standard approval window.
  • Surfacing your organization to a partner's audience through linked profiles.

How it works

The Partnerships page has three areas, top to bottom:

  1. Pending requests. When the other side sends a request, it lands here for you to review. Use Accept to make the partnership active, or Decline to turn it down. A request does not go to Messages — it arrives here (and as a Partnerships item in your Inbox).
  2. Active. Partnerships both sides have approved. You can End partnership at any time.
  3. Ended. A read-only history of partnerships that were declined or ended.

To start a new partnership, scroll to Find an organization to partner with. Search verified accounts by name, cause, region, or EIN, then choose Request partnership. Either side may initiate; the other side approves. Organizations you already partner with are excluded from results.

If the organization you want is not on Xerish yet, use Invite an organization to email an invitation. Once their account is approved, they are auto-partnered with you and you are notified.

Governing limitations

  • Church-to-organization only (v1). A request between two churches or two organizations is rejected. The pairing rule is enforced server-side.
  • Mutual approval required. A partnership only becomes Active once both sides have approved.
  • Three statuses: pending, active, ended.
  • Messaging is a separate step. A partnership by itself does not open a chat. Direct conversations happen on the Messages page and are organization-to-organization — Xerish has no Giver-to-Giver messaging and no public Giver profiles, so partner messaging never touches a Giver's identity.
  • View-only members see partnerships but cannot accept, request, or end them.

Good to know

  • Every organization on Xerish has passed F.I.G.S. vetting. Vetting is a platform-level pass/fail — there is no per-organization score or rating.
  • Ending a partnership does not delete history; it moves the relationship to Ended.
