If your account is restricted: suspension & appeals

Rarely, an organization's account may be suspended. This article explains why that happens, what it means for your gifts, and how to appeal.

What it's for

So that if it ever happens to you, you know it's a defined process with a path back — not a dead end — and you know your supporters' gifts are safe in the meantime.

How it works

  • Why suspension happens. Suspension is reserved for serious issues: drift from the F.I.G.S. standard, misrepresentation, misuse of gifts, a credible compliance flag, or a legal/safety concern. It is not used for small mistakes, which are handled with a request for more information.
  • What it does. A suspended account is paused on the platform. New giving and new grant dispatch to your bank are halted while the matter is reviewed.
  • Your funds stay safe. Gifts already given for you remain held at Xerish Storehouse during a suspension. They are not lost; they wait until the matter resolves.
  • How to appeal. You'll be told the reason. Respond with the requested information or context through your support contact. A reviewer re-evaluates and either lifts the suspension, requests more, or, in serious cases, removes the account from the platform.

Governing limitations

  • It's reason-based and logged. Suspensions are recorded with a reason; they are not arbitrary.
  • Grants pause during suspension. Automatic grant dispatch is held until the account is restored.
  • Serious findings can end recipient status. A confirmed serious violation can remove you from the Pre-Approved Recipient List.

Good to know

  • The best prevention is simply staying F.I.G.S.-aligned — honest representation, accurate impact reporting, and using gifts as stated.
  • Keep your contact details current so you actually receive a suspension notice and can respond quickly.
  • If you believe a suspension is a mistake, reply with specifics; the process exists to correct errors as well as to enforce standards.
