F.I.G.S. verification: what it is and how to qualify

OrganizationsChurchesLast reviewed May 26, 2026

What F.I.G.S. is

F.I.G.S. stands for Faith · Integrity · Generosity · Stewardship. It is the doctrinal standard the Xerish admin team uses to decide whether an Organization is aligned with the platform.

Per CONSTITUTION §IV, F.I.G.S. is binary:

  • pass — Organization is verified. Earns the F.I.G.S. verified badge.
  • fail — Organization is not aligned. Cannot operate on the platform.
  • needs-more-info — Review pending; the team has follow-up questions.

There is no numeric F.I.G.S. score. If you see one anywhere in any client, it''s a bug. The internal column organizations.figs_score (if present) is for internal-only modeling and must never surface to users.

The four pillars

Faith. Does the Organization confess and operate from a faith-rooted center consistent with historic Christian doctrine? This is a doctrinal alignment check, not a denominational one — Xerish hosts across denominations, but it is not a generic charity platform.

Integrity. Are the Organization''s claims honest? Are impact metrics defensible? Is the leadership financially clean? Is there a published methodology note? Is the 501(c)(3) (or church) status real?

Generosity. Does the Organization model the generosity it asks of Givers? Does it disclose leadership compensation? Does it reinvest in mission rather than overhead inflation? Is it transparent about where money goes?

Stewardship. Are funds handled responsibly? Are payouts deployed to mission? Are reports honest about what worked and what didn''t? Is there governance (a board, an accountable structure)?

How to qualify

  1. Complete the Launchpad fully, with honest information.
  2. Maintain a real cadence of posts with concrete impact metrics and methodology notes.
  3. Have your 501(c)(3) Determination Letter or church status uploaded.
  4. Respond promptly when the Xerish review team reaches out with questions.

What disqualifies

  • Fabricated impact numbers.
  • Material misrepresentation of leadership, finances, or doctrine.
  • Pattern of complaints from Givers that the Organization can''t answer.
  • Operating outside historic Christian doctrine in a way that conflicts with Xerish''s mission.

Timing

F.I.G.S. review happens after the Launchpad is fully complete. First-time review typically takes 1-3 weeks. Subsequent re-reviews (annual or triggered by a flag) take less.
