Verify your email and identity

What this step is for

Before anything else, Xerish needs to confirm the email address you signed up with actually belongs to you. Every notification — a new Gift, a payout summary, a Giver question, an admin update — gets routed here. If the address is wrong, you''ll miss things that matter.

Why it matters

  • Trust. Givers see a verified Organization differently than an unverified one. The verified badge starts here.
  • Account recovery. If you lose your password, the reset link goes to this address. No verified email = no recovery.
  • Payouts. Stripe Connect (set up in a later step) sends critical compliance and tax notices to the email on file.

How to complete it

  1. Open the inbox of the email you signed up with.
  2. Find the message from Xerish titled "Verify your Xerish email" (check spam if it''s not in the main inbox).
  3. Tap the verification link inside.
  4. Return to the Launchpad. The step will show as complete.

What to expect after

You''ll be moved to the next step — Basics. The verification badge in your Org settings will flip to green.

Common mistakes

  • Using a personal Gmail you rarely check. Use the address you actually monitor. You can change it later, but only if you can verify the new one.
  • Waiting too long. Verification links expire after 24 hours. If yours expired, request a new one from Settings.
  • Shared inboxes. If multiple people watch this address, agree on who acts on Xerish notifications. Missed payout notices have caused problems for other Organizations.
