When does money reach your bank?

When does money reach your bank?

Xerish no longer uses a withdrawal/request model. Money reaches you through automatic grant transfers from Xerish Storehouse to your connected Stripe account. Here is the timeline.

What it's for

So you know exactly when a gift becomes spendable in your bank — and why there is a short hold first.

How it works

  • Gift received. Xerish Storehouse holds the giver's gift on your behalf the moment it is given.
  • Hold window (24–48h). Every gift clears a short hold (see limitations) that covers the refund/clawback window.
  • Automatic grant. When the hold clears, Xerish Storehouse grants the funds to your Stripe account — typically within the hour, with no request from you.
  • Stripe to bank. Stripe then pays the transfer out to your linked bank on your Stripe payout schedule (commonly 1–2 business days, set by Stripe).

Governing limitations

  • Two-tier hold. Gifts attached to a post or campaign hold 24 hours; direct gifts (no post) hold 48 hours. This is the clawback/refund window.
  • Gifts on open content wait. A gift tied to a post or campaign that is still open stays in the "Tied to open content" bucket and releases only when that content closes or hits its goal.
  • No manual withdrawal. The pull-withdrawal path is retired — you cannot pull funds on demand. Dispatch is automatic and push-only.
  • The final hop is Stripe's. After a grant lands in your Stripe account, the payout to your bank follows Stripe's timing, which Xerish does not control.
  • Failed transfers stay safe at the Storehouse and reappear once a Stripe or bank issue is fixed.
  • Large grants pause. A single grant over the current $5,000 cap routes to Storehouse board review before dispatch, which can add time; grants under the cap auto-approve.

Good to know

  • Watch the "In 48-hour hold" and "Available to request" buckets in your Financial Center to see what is clearing and what is queued for dispatch.
  • The "Available to request" label is historical — there is nothing to request; that bucket is what has cleared and is queued for automatic dispatch.
  • One bank deposit may cover several gifts — grants that clear together are combined into a single transfer.
  • Connect Stripe early. Until your bank is connected through Stripe, gifts keep accruing at the Storehouse but cannot be transferred out.
