Email Broadcasts

Email Broadcasts are one-to-many email updates to the Givers who follow your organization — recaps, thank-yous, and campaign launches. Xerish builds the recipient list and sends the email for you, so you never see or handle a follower's email address.

What it's for

• A post-victory thank-you after a goal closes (the highest-impact send).
• A year-end recap, an anniversary note, or a campaign launch announcement.
• Genuine mission updates — not marketing.

How it works

1. Choose Compose.
2. Pick a template: post-victory thank-you, year-end recap, anniversary, campaign launch, or a blank custom message. The template pre-fills a subject and body you can edit.
3. Choose the audience:
   • All followers, optionally refined by activity segment — all followers, active in the last 30 days, dormant 90+ days, or lifetime givers.
   • Family only (churches) — only family-tier members of your church.
4. Write your subject and body.
5. Choose Send now or Schedule for a specific date and time.
6. A mandatory preview and confirm step shows exactly what will go out and to which audience before anything sends. Scheduled sends are picked up and delivered automatically at the chosen time.

The history list shows each broadcast's subject, audience, status (draft, scheduled, sending, sent, failed), recipient count, and — once sent — aggregate opens and clicks.

Governing limitations

• No Giver PII. Recipient counts are aggregate totals; you never get a named list of followers or their addresses.
• Mission updates only — Broadcasts are not a marketing channel.
• Open and click figures are aggregate, not per-person.
• View-only members can read broadcast history but cannot compose or send.
• Segment targeting is still being refined. Your chosen segment is recorded with each send, but recipient narrowing is rolling out — some sends may currently reach your full follower list.

Good to know

• The year-end recap template notes that the official year-end contribution statement is issued by Xerish Storehouse, the donor-advised fund sponsor — not by your organization — and is available in the Giver's Xerish wallet.
• For a 1:1 conversation with a partner organization or with Xerish, use Messages instead of a Broadcast.
