Platform Features
Platform funds (curated by Xerish)
What platform funds are
Platform funds (tracked in funds_curated) are giving events curated by the Xerish admin team rather than by an individual church. Examples might include:
- A Xerish-curated response to a specific natural disaster.
- A Xerish-curated annual Joseph Principle distribution fund.
- A Xerish-curated themed fund (e.g., "Persecuted Church Fund") with vetted member Organizations.
How they differ from church funds
| Aspect | Church fund | Platform fund |
|---|---|---|
| Who curates | A specific church | Xerish admin |
| Members | Chosen by the church | Chosen by Xerish |
| Lifecycle | draft → live → complete | Admin-managed |
| Where visible | Church''s own surface + Discover | Featured on Discover, sometimes home feed |
Current status (2026-05-26)
Platform funds infrastructure is partially built. The funds_curated table exists. Admin UI for curating platform funds is in progress; expect public-facing platform funds to roll out incrementally.
If you have an Organization and you''re curious whether you might be invited into a platform fund: Xerish admin reaches out directly. There is no application process at this time.
For Givers
Givers see platform funds in the same Give flow as church funds, but they''re labeled differently in the UI ("Xerish-curated fund") so the source of curation is transparent.
Doctrine
Platform funds use the same fee model as church funds (CONSTITUTION §V): 0% mandatory Xerish fee + voluntary tip chip row on web Gifts.
